AC works fine on the highway but blows warm at idle
I've got a 2014 BMW X3 and the AC is driving me crazy. When I'm driving on the highway, it blows ice cold. But when I'm stuck in traffic or waiting at a stoplight, the air gets noticeably warmer. As soon as I start moving again, it gets cold again. I've checked the coolant level and the radiator fan seems to be spinning. A friend said it could be low refrigerant, but why would it work fine at speed? Another person suggested the auxiliary fan might not be kicking on at idle. I need to find a shop with a Capable AC System Abu Dhabi that can check the system pressures at idle and at speed to diagnose this. Has anyone here had this exact symptom on an F25 and found it was a bad fan clutch or a dirty condenser? Also wondering if a failing AC compressor could work intermittently like this. The car has 130k km and I really need the AC to work in this heat. Any recommendations for a good AC specialist in Abu Dhabi would be great. Thanks.
